Celtics beat Bucks 74-87 but still don’t get home-court
The Good – Rajon Rondo got 15 assists, 12 before the half, to lock up the assists title for the season. He ended the season with an average of 11.7, the highest since John Stockton’s 12.3 in 1995. He joined elite Celtics company as Bob Cousy was the last Celtic to win the assists title.
The Bad – Paul Pierce did the one thing you don’t want your starters to do in a meaningless game, and that is leave the game with an injury. Luckily the injury was minor (a sprained toe) and Pierce was able to come back. He will be ready for the playoffs.
The Unexpected – Ryan Hollins scored 9 points and had 4 blocks in a game that might show he is finally getting the Celtics’ rotations. He might not get a lot of minutes in the playoffs, but its always good to have those extra 6 fouls if he can add in some blocks.
The Celtics were unable to secure home-court against the Hawks as both teams won on the final day of regular season games. Luckily the C’s have proven their ability to win anywhere. The playoffs start on Sunday in Atlanta.
